How do I locate the E-mail address, mailing address, or phone number of an Industry Canada employee?
Most Industry Canada employees are listed in the Telephone Directory. You can view the directory by name, by organization, or perform a keyword search.
Where can I find the websites of various branches in Industry Canada?
Most of the sectors/branches in Industry Canada can be found in the "Business Information by Industry Canada's Sector Branches" section or the "Business Information by Industrial Category" section on the Strategis site.
Another resource is our "Links - By Category" section. Many of the web pages for sectors such as the Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), the Competition Bureau, the Office of Consumer Affairs, Office of the Ethics Counsellor or the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy can be found here.
How can I find out about job opportunities at Industry Canada?
Federal government departments do their hiring of outside people through the Public Service Commission. You may wish to look at their recruitment site at http://jobs.gc.ca for further information. For information on employment openings in Canada in general you might also wish to visit the Human Resources Development Canada website, the URL is http://www.hrdc-drhc.gc.ca, or contact their local office as listed in the Blue Pages of the telephone directory.
There are also many youth employment program services available such as Employment Programs for Young Canadians and the Youth Resource Network of Canada. You may also wish to look at the 'Employment and Learning Resources' section of Strategis (this is Industry Canada's business information site). This will lead you to information on Contact! and the Campus WorkLink : NGR (this is a database on which young people may list their resumes). You may also be interested in the Student Connection Program which sends students to businesses to give them seminars on using the Internet for business purposes. Where can I get information on radiocommunications, telecommunications, spectrum and radio frequencies?

Where can I find information about patents, trade-marks and copyrights?
The Canadian Intellectual Property Office is responsible for areas such as patents, trade-marks, copyrights, industrial design and integrated circuit topography.
Where do I find out about product labels and Industry Canada code stickers?
The Fair Business Practices Branch of the Competition Bureau of Industry Canada can help you meet the mandatory labelling requirements and voluntary guidelines for the marketing of consumer articles such as pre-packaged consumer goods (except food products), clothing and other consumer textile articles, and gold, silver and platinum jewellery or other items made of precious metals.
How do I locate information on importing and exporting?
The Trade and Investments section located on Strategis is a recommended first stop.
You can also check out our "Trade Data On-Line" page which will help you find new export markets, determine competition for your products and identify domestic opportunities for import replacement.
There is also the Services 2000: Canadian Service Industries and International Trade Negotiations website at http://services2000.ic.gc.ca/ which is designed to help Canadian businesses to export and deliver their services around the world. It contains information on the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS)
You may also wish to look at the ''Guide to Importing Commercial Goods'' found in the ''Contact!'' site on Strategis.
In addition, the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency Internet site provides sources of information on import regulations including 'Automated Customs Information Service' and 'Import/Export Information'. You may access their site at http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/.

The following sources of Canadian company information available on Strategis might help:
- the Canadian Company Capabilities database. This is Industry Canada's business information Internet site at http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/cdncc that contains lists of Canadian companies by industry, province or city.
- other Canadian Company Databases (ex., Scott's Directories and the Canadian Trade Index) are also useful sites.
- the ''Canadian Business Map'' also provides information on Canadian and foreign companies
- the Canada Yellow Pages may also be of assistance, particularly if you know the location of the company

Incorporation kits are available on the website of the Corporations
Directorate under Information Kits and Administrative Forms.

Where can I get copies of blank forms (e.g. Articles of Incorporation, Articles of dissolution)?
Many administrative forms related to the Canada Business Corporations Act are available on the Internet in PDF (Portable Document Format) format and are available for downloading at http://strategis.ic.gc.ca/SSG/cs00058e.html. Simply print, fill out and return.

Where can I find information on the Connecting Canadians initiative?
Connecting Canadians is the federal government's vision and plan to make Canada the most connected country in the world. You can find out more information on the Connecting Canadians agenda at their website at http://connect.gc.ca.
