Your browser must accept cookies to use Passport A cookie is a very small text file that a Web site can save to your computer's hard disk to store information that you provide about yourself or to store your settings for the site. Passport uses cookies to store your sign-in profile and to keep track of sites you visit so it can sign you out of all of them when you click a Sign Out link. Furthermore, all Passport cookies are encrypted to keep the information in them secure, and when you sign out, Passport deletes all of its cookies from your computer. Passport never stores your address or credit card information in a cookie.

A cookie cannot be run like a program, nor can it deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours, and it can only be read by the Web site that saved it to your computer.
