Florida HealthStat is a site created by five Florida agencies that provides information about health-care providers, prescription drugs and medical facilities.
The Florida Department of Health offers a searchable database of physicians. You'll find a profile of these practitioners, including information about their education and the hospitals at which they have privileges.
The Federal Physician Data Center, administered by the nonprofit Federation of State Medical Boards, contains state board actions taken against 35,000 doctors dating to the early 1960s and, for some doctors, the 1940s. The records are pulled from all 50 states. All you need to provide is the doctor's name and address, plus a $9.95 fee for each one you want to learn about. The Federation of State Medical Boards is the umbrella group for all physician licensing agencies.
