If
you've ever seen the episode of The Simpsons, where Homer
is teaching Bart how to shave, then you'll know what a bad job
Homer makes of it.
Most
guys learn how to shave and look after themselves from what
their father teaches them. Normally this is very little, as
he only knows what your grandfather told him. Girls
have it easier (Well, in this respect anyhow!) They pick up
skincare and perfume tips from their sisters, their mothers,
their friends and magazines. They are surrounded by all this,
while us guys are left in the dark.
Nowadays,
It's a bit easier for guys. Magazines such as FHM, Loaded
and Maxim often carry information of this sort, but obviously,
only little space can be given to the subject each month as
they have to fill the rest of the pages with barely clothed,
semi-naked pictures of Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Michelle Gellar,
Rachel from S Club7 and other such ladies, which is fine by
us.
A
lot of guys don't know the difference between an Aftershave
and an Eau de Toilette; or what to do with a scrub; or why they
should use a moisturiser. And due to to fact that men don't
like to admit that we don't know something, most guys are unlikely
to find out either. Basenotes is here to fill that knowledge
gap.
