Listening to Strings Attached is like cleaning out your closet and finding that favorite old sweater that you used to wear all the time. You try it on, and it's so comfortable that it seems you never took it off. From the effects-laden ringing guitar opening of "Look In the Sky," Glass Harp members Phil Keaggy, Dan Pecchio and John Sferra give us 27 reasons to keep them out of the closet for a while. This event was highly anticipated in their hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Glass Harp do not disappoint as they play with energy and imagination, never once sounding like they had been apart so long. Pecchio dances up and down his bass fretboard, lithely supporting Sferra's rock-solid, muscular drumming. No amount of words can suffice in describing Phil Keaggy's guitar playing in a live setting. He is simply the most inherently musical guitar player working today. The album is peppered with all the favorite GH classics like "Going Home", "Children's Fantasy", "Do Lord", and other songs that spanned their short 4-year, 3-album existence in the late 60's and early 70's. As an added treat, the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra helps out on the second disc, with an Overture performed by Keaggy and the Orchestra. Strings Attached is definitely a must-have for any fan of Phil Keaggy, Glass Harp, or for any serious student of the guitar. You will not be disappointed.
