MT-Alberton Gorge
The Gorge offers big-water boating until early summer, then more moderate flows until September, when an end to irrigation season often adds back a surprising amount of volume.
MT-Buffalo Rapids, Flathead River
This seven-mile stretch has four distinct rapids clustered in the middle of the run, where the river makes a couple of tight bends through a little canyon.
MT-Lochsa
Lochsa is an ancient word that means "bad choices may lead to a religious experience." At high water, there are two sections on which to test your decision-making ability and your piety.
MT-Middle Fork of the Flathead
Arguably the biggest whitewater in Montana, the Flathead's Middle Fork offers a three-day wild ride through some of the lower 48's most pristine country.
MT-Salmon River
The day stretch of the Salmon is superb whitewater for beginners, families, paddle rafters and anybody else looking for a whitewater diversion on a sunny day.
MT-The Blackfoot
The Blackfoot offers three stretches of moderate whitewater in a beautiful valley outside Missoula's back door.
MT-The Upper Missouri River
The Upper Missouri is a special river in a special part of the US. It is wild, remote, and above all spectacularly scenic. Fortunately, it is also a National Wild and Scenic River and has been well preserved for us all to enjoy
