The answer to this question may be found on the How you can help page. We are always looking for new and interesting chess variants or information on subjects relating to chess variants.

Q: Do you have chess variant XYZ on these pages?

Chances are we already do. You may check by either looking at the alphabetical index of chess variants (if you know the name of the variant), or by looking at the main index, which breaks down the variants by what type they are. This one is helpful if you aren't sure of the name of the variant.

Q: I have invented a chess variant and want to sell it. Can you help me?

We would be very happy to have information on your chess variant on our website, and it would cost you nothing or one free copy of the game. Check the help page on how to have information on or photo's of your variant on the website.

However, that is all we can do. This is a non-profit website, dedicated to giving information on all kinds of chess variants, and we cannot help you further marketing the game, or help to find investors in the production of the game. Neither will we ourselves invest in it. Concerning advice on how to market these games, it is better to consult others with experience in marketing games, as we are writers and players, but not businessmen.

Q: I want to find people that want to play chess variant XYZ with me by email.

Try to post a request for opponents at our message board. Chess Variants.

This is really freaky! I was taught a game by my uncle about thirty years
ago (im 43 now) called Martian Chess. The pieces were a Freezer
(upside-down rook), chamelion (bishop), coordinator (knight), long leaper
(queen), retractor (king) and Flanker (pawn), but all at the same time, no
normal pieces. It was one of the best games I ever played and I even taught
my kid and he thinks it's cool too.

This is the first time I've ever seen anyone that ever heard of this
stuff in my entire life. What a mind-blower!

Sincerely,
Steve
