Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown Screens #5

Ubisoft has released new screenshots from the PS2 and Xbox versions of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown, the fouth installment of the popular series. The game is being developed by two of Ubisoft's award-winning studios: Red Storm Entertainment, the maker of the original Rainbow Six, and Ubisoft's Montreal Studio. During the game, you lead Team Rainbow, the world's most elite counter-terrorist unit, as they are assigned the mission to deal with a bioterrorist threat. Team Rainbow is personally targeted by an evil terrorist organization, so now they must fight and save some of their own. The game will be released in March 2005, for PC, Xbox and PS2.

Eidos has released a new movie of Project Snowblind, featuring eighty seconds of gameplay footage from this game developed by Crystal Dynamics and already available in North America, for PS2, Xbox and PC. The action of the game takes place in an Asian communist country where a civil war is taking place. The player must control a squad of NPCs or drive vehicles through 11 missions and 16 big levels.

SOCOM III: US Navy SEALs Announced/Screens

The third chapter in the SOCOM series, SOCOM III: U.S. Navy SEALs is under development at Zipper Interactive and is scheduled for Q3 2005, exclusively for PS2, Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. announced. The game will take place in new locations (Morocco, Poland, and Bangladesh) and will offer single-player missions with checkpoints and multiple paths to reach the maps objectives. The AI will be improved and players will be able to swim and operate various vehicles. The first screenshots are located here.


Destineer Licenses Vision Game Engine

Trinigy GmbH announced that it has signed a licensing deal with Destineer, Inc. (developers of Close Combat: First to Fight) regarding the Vision Game Engine. Within the scope of this agreement, Destineer, Inc. will be developing currently undisclosed games based on Trinigy’s Vision technology for multiple platforms. The Vision 3D game engine was used to create games like Desperados 2: Cooper’s Revenge, Psychotoxic, Gotcha!, Emergency 3 and Back to Gaya.

Ubisoft has released a new Silent Hunter 3 video showing a tutorial on how to navigate through the game. The upcoming naval battle simulation game in the works at Ubisoft Romania will add "new dimensions to the simulation experience. The player will engage in a compelling ocean environment, featuring dynamic weather, and experience the intensity of historical naval warfare". Silent Hunter 3 will be released on March 17th, 2005.

Our gallery has been updated with seven screenshots from Stolen, an ultra realistic, third person, stealth-based, action game based around a high-tech female thief. The game will allow you to play the role of a Hollywood-style thief with a host of athletic and martial abilities and will feature hi-tech gadgets, tools and weapons, high tech thief equipment: tracking devices, sonic visor, traversal equipment, various security companies and systems to outsmart, each with unique personalities and traits. Developed by Blue 52, Stolen with be available on Xbox, PC and PS2 on March 22nd, 2005.

New screenshots from Crime Life: Gang Wars have been inserted in our gallery, showcasing this action title which will be published by Konami of Europe for the PS2, Xbox and PC (thanks: Blues). Crime Life: Gang Wars boasts a strong narrative that shows the dangers and strains associated with gang membership, and promotes a strong sense of morality via game elements inspired by classic gang movies, such as New Jack City, Boyz 'n the Hood and Menace to Society. The player must protect his own people from exploitation and abuse, and defend his crew from the violence and treachery that permeates the society he lives in.

According to the latest DICE Financial Report, Battlefield 2, the sequel to Battlefield 1942, will be released by Electronic Arts in June (thanks: Blues). Battlefield will feature immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-to-player ratio and an optimized gameplay experience.

Here are the latest screens from the latest installment of the Trackmania series developed by Nadeo. The game features new vehicules that can reach an incredible 400kph, new environments, two new solo modes: Platform and Crazy, an integrated peer-to-peer network for exchanging player creations, fully customisable car skins and player avatars and extensive content support from an existing online community. TrackMania Sunrise will be released in North America by Enlight in June 2005.

Our gallery has been updated with six screenshots from the alpha version of Sigonyth: Desert Eternity, a new third-person Polish-Italian MMORPG with character creation based on a set of stats, traits and skills. The players will assume roles as descendants of the space ship survivors and be able to choose between one of the three races: humans, cyborgs or Vovians (mutants). There will be no ultimate goal forced by the story – everyone will be able to decide by himself what does he want to do and accomplish in his virtual life.

Microsoft Game Studios announced that new content for MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf is now available for download via Xbox Live, constisting of two maps that were originally featured in the Limited Edition; each playable via System Link, split-screen and Xbox Live. The first map, Mountain High, supports five game types: Team Destruction, Check It, Snatch it, Base War and Grinder. The second map, Troubled Waters, is playable in multiplayer Destruction mode and can also be played by either one or two gamers in the offline Grinder mode. MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf was developed by Day 1 Studios, creators of the original MechAssault for Xbox, in conjunction with FASA Studio, the developers of MechWarrior and MechCommander series for Windows and Crimson Skies for Xbox.

Samurai Western Coming in June

Releasing this trailer, Atlus U.S.A. announced today its plans to publish in June 2005, for the PS2, Samurai Western, an action-packed adventure game developed by Spike, the creators of the original Tenchu and The Way of the Samurai series. The game takes place in the American West during the 1800's - the main character is Gojiro Kiryu and he's bringing justice back to the Old West through 16 different missions. Atlus U.S.A., Inc. announced today that a new RPG named Riviera: The Promised Land is under development and is scheduled to ship this summer, exclusively for the Game Boy Advance. The game will offer exquisite hand-drawn graphics with over 100 character expressions and event scenes, over 30 hours of gameplay with multiple endings, unique item system that allows items to function differently depending on which characters equip them and more (check full story for details). FlatOut Coming to North America

FlatOut, the racing game developed by Bugbear Entertainment and released in the UK, will ship to the US retail outlets on June 14, for PS2, Xbox and PC, Empire Interactive announced. Dungeon Lords New Gameplay Movie

DreamCatcher Games today released another gameplay movie from Dungeon Lords, a 3D fantasy RPG designed, written and developed by award-winning computer game author, D.W. Bradley ("Wizards & Warriors" and three of the legendary "Wizardry" titles) and his team at Heuristic Park. The game promises non-stop game action and exploration in full 3rd person 3D, including outdoor wilderness, swamps, forests, mountains, arctic lands, towns, villages, castles, dungeons, temples, caves, and forbidden ruins. It will also offer lots of quests, missions, items, weaponry, magic spells and powerful artifacts. Dungeon Lords will be released in April.
