Shenandoah Valley Chess Club

Meets every Friday (except Good Friday before Easter, and when Christmas or New Years falls on a friday or saturday) from 7:00 until whenever.  Most people show up around 7:30 and play speed chess until 8:00, when serious ladder games (G/60) start...

...at Trinity Presbyterian Church - corner of S. High (rt 42) and Maryland Ave. (Port Republic road), Harrisonburg, Virginia. Harrisonburg is centrally located in the Shenandoah Valley at the intersection of three major highways: Interstate 81, U.S. 33, and U.S. 11.  It is a two-hour drive from Richmond, Roanoke, and Washington, D.C.  James Madison University is located in Harrisonburg.

Directions to Club: from I-81 take the Port Republic road exit (245) and go west (left if going north on 81, right if going south on 81) several blocks until you see S. High street; the church sign is right across the street, go straight and park behind the church.

Activities: Casual games, speed games, analysis, club ladder games, USCF-rated tournaments, non-rated theme tournaments, all the kibitzing you could ever want (but not during ladder or tournament games)...

Membership Information: All ages and levels of skill welcome!  At present there are no dues!  Just show up and play a ladder game to become a member.

Current ladder standings, news, weekly updates, everything that happened at the club last Friday, etc.
