GERMANY'S RATZINGER IS 265TH POPE

New pope delivers first blessing

German Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger today became the 265th pope, taking the name Benedict XVI. He delivered his first papal blessing with the crowd in St. Peter's Square chanting, "Viva il Papa." Benedict XVI dined with his cardinals tonight and will celebrate Mass in the Sistine Chapel Wednesday.
