Popeye sits outside Olive Oyl's airport diner, now shut down.
He
finds a note from her saying she was "plane crazy" about aviators
so
she flew away with one. Popeye begins to sob. Meanwhile up in the
sky,
the nasty aviator, Bluto, made Olive paint the rudders! She was having
a
tough time so Bluto turned the plane around and tried to make her
fall
off. Popeye saw and jumped in a biplane and hurried to the rescue.
He
and Bluto stand on the wings and start hitting one another, but
when
the planes start to tilt they jump back in the cockpits. Bluto turns
the
tables on Popeye and charges him head-on. His propeller
destroys
Popeye's plane. Luckily on the way down, he caught a duck and fed
it
spinach so it could zoom back up to Bluto. Popeye then ate spinach
and
belted Bluto out of the plane. He got caught on a windmill
that
constantly dunked him in a water tank. Popeye and Olive land the
plane
in Olive's diner, reopening it for business.
Another great Popeye feature. Whenever that bully Bluto
causes
trouble, Popeye is there to teach him a lesson. This cartoon
is
colorized when shown on TV and that's no good! At the beginning of
this
cartoon, the hangars aren't animated, but in fact real props! That
was
a style animators used back then because drawing background was such
a
pain. Colorization destroys that look unfortunately. Anyway,
Popeye
fans, I Never Changes My Altitude is for you!
