German online news portal SPIEGEL Online has an article title "Game Design in Eastern Europe: Pale Colours of the Deadly Zone" which reports about the current situation on the Eastern games market. The company is planning a recruitment drive in the Atlantic region in September to see if there are enough resources available to open a studio in that location.
Metro 3D has revealed it plans to show at Games Market Europe 22 titles for PlayStation 2 and PC. There will be playable versions of several titles from 3D Metro’s developer partner Data Design Interactive, including: Action Girls Racing, Anubis II, Hamster Heroes, Monster Trux Extreme: Offroad Edition, Ninjabread Man, Rig Racer II, Trixie in Toyland, Urban Extreme and London Taxi: Rush Hour. These titles are for PlaystationR 2 and PC and are due to ship at the start of the 4th Quarter 2005. There will also be new titles that will be presented behind closed doors that DDI are currently developing including: Barry Hatter, Renegade Racer, Classic British Motor Cars, Mini Desktop Racing and Austin Mini Cooper. This titles are all for PlaystationR 2 and PC and will be ready to ship Christmas 2005.
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has signed a multi-year deal with InfoSpace to develop and launch a new mobile games version of the video arcade classic Frogger. Frogger will be powered by InfoSpace's proprietary "For Prizes" platform which allows players to compete against each other to win prizes in continuous head-to-head and progressive tournaments. Konami will distribute and market the game across carriers in the US.

Atari has released a new TimeShift movie offering nine minutes and a half of in-game footage from this first-person shooter previously known as Chronos (story) which will be released in spring of 2006. In the works at Saber Interactive, TimeShift will feature more than 30 combat missions, each showcasing time control elements and challenges that players must complete using both their extraordinary capabilities and combat expertise. An array of devastating and unique weaponry from the world's alternate timeline will be at the player's disposal, including bizarre incarnations of traditional sniper guns, machine guns, pistols and more, as well as never-before-imagined armaments from an era humanity has never seen.
Electronic Arts has released a new first trailer for James Bond: From Russia With Love, the game scheduled to ship this winter on the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube. From Russia With Love focuses on the film storyline but there are some new plot twists and characters. Check the press release for details.
We have been informed that Control Monger, the newest game from Netcharger and MindSurge Entertainment, will now be completed as a full-featured MMOFPS game. The Expanded MMOFPS version of the game will include a central chat room to meet new friends, build clans and join games. A rank system will be added for both clans and players to keep track of there progress and players will gain skills and power-ups as they move up the ranks. Dedicated server software will be downloadable and players will be able to run their own servers. All player servers will answer back to the main server database and keep track of rank. Player will be able to download map-building tools and the world of control monger will be as big as the imagination of our player community.
Namco sent us new screenshots from Shogun Warrior: The Lost Army, showcasing this real-time strategy game developed by Box Clever Interactive and planned for release in October 2005, exclusively for Nintendo DS. In Shogun Warrior, players assume the role of one of two brothers who are locked in bloody combat in feudal Japan. Conquering neighboring territories and amassing formidable armies, only one warrior will be able to survive the deadly endgame to realize his ambitions and claim the title of Shogun. The game allows players to plot complex battle plans using the system's touch screen and engage in massive wireless multiplayer skirmishes for up to 8 players.

Developed with Renderware technology, the game will be available for Xbox and PC.
Ubisoft has revealed it plans to show at Games Market Europe the following games: Peter Jackson's King Kong, Prince of Persia 3, Far Cry Instincts and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.
