Welcome to Cambridge University IETS

IETS is an academic research and service oriented society of Cambridge University focusing mainly on education methodology and activity studies, and research on professional training, we also provides advisory services and assistances to the university admission and administration authorities and related education organisations.


 IETS has wide interests on educational studies, with particular focus on a number of specified topics.

1. Educational Research

    Specialised Research
  • Summarise general situations and common difficulties for students in graduate, undergraduate, A-Levels and GCSE courses, and provide advices and assistances to individual cases.
  • Study individual cases, specially focused on youth crime, youth psychology, family relationship and difficulties of physical or mental disabled students, summarise its causes and effects and catholicity, seek solutions for the individual cases and education methods to the others.
  • Investigate activities of students during school holidays and off-school time, seek interesting, promoting and meaningful activities to help them fully utilise the spare time.
  • Generalise common differences on culture, social behaviour and general lives between international and domestic students, seek education methods or training process to overcome the difficulties in order to improve English education quality to both domestic and international students.

    2. Professional Training
  • Investigate responsibilities, duties, functionalities, background, social levels and social reaction to various professional occupations, particularly on mayors, government officers, enterprise directors and managers, business directors and managers, school leader, journalists, university professors, solicitors and doctors (known as the focus group)
  • Investigate the differences of the above aspects across cultures, locations and religions on the focused group, research the changes on the above aspects and the influences of the changes to the focused group and societies alone the time scale.
  • According to modern world and current situation, summarise the expected responsibilities, duties, functionalities and performance of the focused group for different cultures, locations and religions.

    3. Education Advice and Assistance
    Many of members are experienced education advisors. We provide information, advices and assistants to parents and students. We are here to solve parents' worries in educating their children and students' difficulties in improving themselves. Our society has abundance experience and knowledge in dealing with all matters of both domestic and international students. Based upon our current research topics and the problems that parents and students most concern, we list up following highlighted issues.

    General
  • Help parents and children correctly understanding cognitive distortion and problem behaviours in adolescence, supervise parents and orientate children growing through the adolescence and provide advices and treatments on adolescent psychiatry and behaviour reinforcing.
  • Foster students healthy self-esteem, personality, personal character and morals, promote them to set up healthy social relationship and respect, including to parents, teachers and friends.
  • Help parents and students to objectively evaluation the school and living surrounding and to overcome the unsatisfied factors.
  • Help parents identifying the gift of their children at early stage and assist them to develop the talent.

    Focus
  • Promote and foster awareness and appreciation of Cambridge University to all international students and organisations with a particular focus on those from the Great China and other Oriental regions (known as the focused group in this constitution).
  • Create a support network for students related to our focused group who are willing to apply for a study or a research position, and those with interests of the universities in various aspects.
  • Provide assistances to admission and administration authorities of the universities, and related education organisations, in promoting and organising social and culture events, and education and training programs related to students of our focused group.
  • Provide supports and assistances, including organising study groups, seminars and classes to students and other related organisations, who are interested in specialized education and training methodologies and activities for students with various language and culture backgrounds.
  • Provide individual supports and assistances to junior overseas students and their parents specially focused on future education planning, language training and intension, social relationships, physical and mental health, social activities and hobbies and skills developing.
