The Local Learning Centre has been in Highcliffe since October 2000, and provides training on a whole range of computer related subjects. There are courses for everyone from complete novices to more advanced uses, and from computer basics to more specialised subjects and applications. Students from 19 to 90 can obtain nationally recognised qualifications such as Becoming Webwise, CLAIT, New CLAIT, IBT2 and 3, Internet Technologies, including Web Design, and the ever popular European Computer Driving License. ECDL Advanced is also available. New courses include Photoshop. Classes are not traditional. Everyone works at their own pace, with well qualified tutors on hand to help whenever required. Flexibility is the key, and clients can book any three hour session from the four daily sessions 9am-12, 12-3pm 3pm-6pm, 6pm-9pm. Saturday's session runs from 10am-1pm. AND - the first six hours tuition are completely FREE! Corporate Training is also provided, with the Southern Tourist Board being among the clients. Service users at the Christchurch Day Centre and Woodlands also benefit from courses. The Centre works in association with Brockenhurst College, and can therefore offer subsidised prices. The College undertakes regular quality checks to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
