The following is based on information originally collected by Christine N and hosted at MIT. Please submit new additions here (include all necessary instructions and brief description).
Terminology for subscribing to mailing lists:
- when you send e-mail to subscribe, you need to include this text (shown in bold for
each mailing list described below) in the mail message itself.
The subject of the e-mail can usually be left blank.
- Subscription subject
- in order to subscribe, you need to include this text (shown in bold) in the e-mail
subject line. The contents of the e-mail are usually unimportant.
If there are no details for the Subscription message and Subscription subject then you do not need to send anything special - a blank subject/message should suffice.
- announce
- This is a read-only list where newsworthy items about the Internet Movie Database will be released. This makes it a good way to keep up with changes and new features. Frequency of mailing is once per week at most

- A read-only list offering the latest IMDb newsletter that covers developments and features in reasonable depth. Newsletters are sent every 6-8 weeks on average
