Before using the full registered version, I used iSpin lite. This version is very well made and is expecting even further versions. A note on the version, it's 1.5 not 3.5. Very good, works with all PDA's i've seen (exept black&white;)

It works almost perfect on my T|C, no delays, no need of hard/soft resets. Looks great, some PPC users make funny faces, when i turn on my Palm OS...

Ran decently for a while, drag and drop not always functional, nor was the tap and drag, caused many fatal alert errors on my tungsten e, hard resets were necessary, and, when starting up it always, always hesistated (screen flash) i decided it wasnt worth it especially for the memory the launcher used, im ditching it, not so nice having the handhelds desktop the same as my home pc. moving items ie; off the desktop was also a chore, putting them on the desktop is easy enough, but i like my desktops clean and simple, it just started acting freaky, so its back to the basics.

All the bad design features of Windows right on your Palm. If that's what you are used to, fair enough. The Launcher runs reasonably well.

It will not activate a selection using the center button of my Treo 650's d-pad. I really want to like and use this program but I can't one-handed operation is possible. Hopefully in the next rev..

iSpin v1.0b8 - Excellent, a brillant alternative to the boring Palm OS4.1 launcher but... very slow to load (16 seconds) on a Sony Clie SJ22. Once loaded perfect quick but after leaving an App you have to wait this long each time. Even over clocking makes no difference. Older Palm model owners might be disappointed.

Given the price (six bucks to get the runnings apps to show on the taskbar), this would be an excellent program except (1)I can't figure out how to get to some basic Palm functions like "delete applications," (2) it's a tad unstable (on my Zire 71), and (3) its "right click" (accessed by a "long" tap) function should include the ability to a few more functions like "send shortcut to desktop." With all of that said, this is a remarkable program because (1) it allows you to drag and drop your shortcuts in nearly an identical fashion to the Windows XP interface and (2) it provides true multitasking capability by, again, using the Windows XP approach of showing running apps on the taskbar (again, if you register the software). My complaints (fairly minor) are (1) getting it to download new themes (accessed by tapping the icon in the lower right corner of the screen)doesn't consistently implement the new theme, (2) I can't figure out how to delete themes once they're installed, and (3) once I drag a shortcut into a folder, I can't figure out how to get it "up the tree" again (the only thing I've determined is that you delete the whole folder and start over again). Again, with all of that said, if you're looking for a true, multi-tasking interface with a Windows XP feel, give this program a shot before you try one of the more expensive ($15 to $25 or more) shareware options.

I am a previous user of ISpin (1.0b6) and had really enjoyed the software until this a.m. I downloaded a copy of the most recent version (1.0b7) of the software and loaded it according to the instructions. I have a Palm m130 and it has totally locked up my Palm. I received a Fatal Alert message that stated MemoryMgr.c.Line 4475, Invalid chunkptr with a RESET Button. I have tried both a soft and hard reset and still have the Fatal Alert message. My Palm m130 seems to be dead in the water.

I have sony Clie. It crashes just like Windows man!!!!. Keeps telling to reboot. Still looks cool and that is about it.

This is an EXCELLENT launcher. The only problem that I have is changing themes, my T2 freezes and I have to reset it. Apart from that, excellent program.

With freeware like this who needs shareware? This has to be the best freeware ever made. It turned my palm into a ppc. Just fix the bugs and make it easier to put things into catagories.

Great Great program - I gues it only works on some palm pilots, however, it's flawless on mine. I love the CHANNELS that you can add. Heck, it even automaicaly updates itself when I sync it with my computer. It will download all the new patches. "self-healing" AND I can add all new backrounds. I think you guys are doing a great job!! One thing that I can think of is to add a battery monitor on the bottom or top and maybe even memory. Then you could add a clock on the bottom to make it more like XP. Keep up the good work. I'm looking foward to the next release.

I saw this program, and thought, there HAS to be some catch, When i found none, i said to myself, I love this, just one problem, ONLY 1, its hard to change backgrounds, if its even possible, If it is, my appologies, but if it isnt possible, I would say that is the ONLY, O N L Y problem with it, Congrats on making such an awesome launcher, it is the best one that i've seen, even better than the ones you pay 4...

Sweet! This program is stupendous! By far the best overlay I have ever seen. Don't be discouraged by the reviews below this one--it is quite obvious that the reviewers didn't read the instruction manual first (I solved all of the same "problems" in five minutes by taking time to browse the included PDF file). Being a Palm OS gamer and developer, I found that this overlay suits every one of my Palm OS needs. Considering that I dislike Windows CE, this really says something about this remarkable program! The idea is really good. However, it is realllly slow on my Sony Clié SJ-22. Maybe there's a catch, or I should use a better unit. In the last case there's no need to be compatible with OSes before OS5 since I have one of the best hardwares for an OS 4...

Nice idea, but... Took ages to find the manual - very uninformative - screen shots not the same as the program - buttons not explained - claims to be 'intuitive', but only if you are the compiler! Found it very difficult to use. Much improvement needed.

Great software and very interesting idea!. This boost your palm computer and gives a different view. It would be great if if has batery monitor and a clock and also fix some fatal bugs. Although, nice try!!

AMAZING program. I would have expected to pay for this. Even though its flawed, it is still great. This is the closest Windows clone we will probably see on a Palm/PPC for a while. This program demostrates the possibilty of a Windows Desktop - Launcher for Palm. The 'Start' menu is striking simular to that of the real one! The Task Bar minimizes and maxiumizes the windows as it should, the tiles, icons, list and details views are also strikingly simular. Drag and dropping files is also amazing. Some bugs that will hopefully be worked out (okay it's a kinda long list, im picky): better icon transparency, there is a little white line outline; cannot have own icons on desktop; it's annoying to close explorer windows, I have to tap and hold for a menu to 'End task'; no visual clock in taskbar & cannot select own tray icons; no real complaint on start menu. The only problem I have with windows explorer and selecting items on the start menu is not being able to hold the pen or finger on the item for any amount of time - I wish it was more finger friendly, like hold my finger and drag down the start menu selecting every item on the way until I release it on the one I want, scroll or drag starts; NO 5 way navigator support and hardly any page up/dwn support besides for windows explorer; tap and hold>properties does not work on programs. It would be really cool if clicking on the My Music icon would display all my songs in \Audio on my memory card and then tapping on that song would launch and play pockettunes/mmplayer/aeroplayer with that song. Dispite the list of things that need improvement, the Cool factor is what I like most about this program.
