This is the best solution I've found to program the Palm. Lua language it's easy to learn (very close to Basic), this port of the language includes Palm form programming (buttons, input fields, checkboxes, etc.) and it can be written and compiled on your Palm or on your PC (it has a compiler for Windows and Linux). Great job !!!

A very good programming language! Very simple to use, and best of all FREE. :] I adore it! ;]

It is the best for quick hacking, but the "compile" option is great, too. It is smaller than SmallBasic, quicker and simpler than OnBoardC. The only drawback is the new language, but is close to C. One more good feature: it shows compile errors, together with explanation (very few PalmOS interpreters do this, and they are large). Overall, a very good choice, maybe together with OnBoardC. It's free, too!

This is a really great little programming environment. It seems to support a lot of what you would hope for - database, resources, serial port, UI, events, sound and colour. It works fine on my PalmOS5 Tungsten T. You can write lua code on the Palm or on pc, run it from Memo or compile it to a prc. Excellent! Thanks Marcio.

It's too bad that almost any programming error results in a soft-reset.

WOW! If only there wasn't the need for the runtime and the ability to make your own icons (many thanks to hex editors!) this program would get 6 stars!

Wow! I don't know this language but the whole application seems really simple and very powerful. I can build my own standalone programs :] Compliments

From all the programming language ports for the palm I have seen so far this is the most convenient and versatile. Not bloated but still fully featured, many many palm internal functions ready to implement and fast! I especially like the "compile" feature, with wich a standalone prc is built and the Lua engine holds for the runtime. Now, if only I can write decent Lua code ;-) ps.: http://www.lua.org is the homepage.
