Apple's Online Store Beats Dell, Sony in Consumer Reports Survey

by , 5:05 PM EST, November 22nd, 2005

A survey of 78,000 Consumer Reports subscribers showed Apple's online store beating out the ones run by Dell and Sony. The results will be detailed in the magazine's December issue, according to a report on AppleInsider. Apple.com and IBM.com led with the best selection and service, with Apple scoring an overall rating of 93 and IBM coming in second with 86.

Web and catalog retailers fared better overall than retail chains: Micro Center and Costco led in the latter category with scores of 82 and 81, respectively. Among online third parties, Amazon.com came in number one with an 89 rating, followed closely by MacConnection with an 88 score.
