Anyone remember the old game for two players where you have 5 different ships and you put them on a grid, then you call out grid numbers in an attempt to destroy the other players ship? Well this is another electonic version of this game, and it also has a 3d naval action game to go along with it.

When you start the game you can choose either to play the clasic game, or play the arcade game.

I really liked playing the classic game. You can play against one or two computer players simultaneously, although sometimes both computer players like to pick on you. The game uses nice 3d ships and water, When the ship gets sunk, the men jump ship and little rafts appear in those squares.

In the arcade game you control a battleship with heaps of guns. You have to go around rescuing the rafts, and blowing up enemy boats, rocket launchers, and prisons. There isn't a lot to the game, it is just a 3d style shoot 'em up. The battle ship has four fire control buttons depending on which direction to want to shoot in.
Sound: 5/10

It's there but not very exciting. The bugle gets annoying when you die - but then I guess the aim of the game is not to die.

Graphics: 7/10

It has some pretty nice, 3d graphics. Pretty simple, but more than useful.

Playability: 5/10

Both games seemed a little repetitious. I found the classic game to be more entertaining than the arcade game, because at least i expect it to be repetitious, but it is a puzzle, so requires lots of thinking. The arcade game on the other hand just requires a lot of mindless blasting. It was fun for a while, but in the long run I think the classic game has more playability. The battleship cruised around very nicely, that was one thing I really enjoyed.

Overall: 5.5/10

It's not a bad game, slightly hard in places, but still a manageable level. I was unable to get multi-player to work, in fact I don't think it was programmed properly, which is a shame. For a single player game though it is entertaining. The options screen also seemed to lag - is that just my computer? If you like the basic shoot 'em up genre then this will keep you going for a few hours.
