Description:
vPCB was the first emulator for PalmOS to allow you to play Atari's Centipede on your handheld.
Now development has been resumed by the original author of DOS vPCB.
The result is the addition of a variety of Atari Vector games and a vastly improved Millipede!
Requirements:
- ARM-equipped PalmOS handheld
- 320x320 Color Screen
- 4 hardware buttons (datebook, contacts, todo, memopad, up/down)
- VFS-compatible memory such as SD/MMC card, MemorySt!ck, etc...
Currently supports:
- Centipede
- Millipede
- Asteroids
- Asteroids Deluxe
- Lunar Lander
- BattleZone
- Red Baron (has a few glitches, like you can't fire your guns and the controls are wacky)
- Space Duel
- Gravitar (playable, but has scaling issues)
This is a test release, which means that while it hasn't ever corrupted the author's data or damaged his hardware it may do so to yours. If you're scared, stay home. :)
This release hasn't been fully Palm-ized yet, but is intended as a demonstration. The supported games currently run at better than full speed on a Tungsten T. Sound is not (yet) emulated.
Full prctools/gcc source is included...
YOU MUST HAVE LEGALLY OBTAINED CENTIPEDE ROMS TO PLAY THIS EMULATOR. If you'd don't it will be worthless to you. StarROMS.com sells these roms for around $5.
Update Description:
Now has a really crummy 160x160 mode for desperate Treo 600 users who can't play much of anything on their tiny lowres screens. :)
