Klimashin wins European Championship 2000

A.Klimashin (Russia) beat A.Soosyrv (Estonia) to in the final to take the championship. In the bronze match S.Karlsson from Sweden beat P.Salnikov (Russia).

There were some problems with clocks, with hotel and organization of Tournament. An extra day was added to the tournament, which resulted to some of the players not finishing the last round.

20 years of Renju in Jönköping

November 10th 1980 the Jönköping Renju club started. The 20 years celebration will be held on Wednesday 15th November 2000 in the Jönköping club usual traing place att KFUM (YMCA) in Jönköping 19.30. Every renjuplayer is of course welcome even if I understand only citizens in Jönköping are able to visit the celebration.

43 participants from Moscow, Sankt-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Podyuga, Rybinsk, Zhigulyovsk and Volgograd took part. Best ten players will play at Russian High League next year.

There were 6 World champions (Klimashin, Sushkov, Savrasova, Lebedeva, Nekrasov, Metreveli) in fighting. First two had personal places at High League but canceled it.
