Jagged Alliance 2 - Unfinished Business (c) Interplay

Introduction / Plot:

The country of Arulco has fallen under a new threat. Ricci Mining and Exploration, the company that ran Arulco's mines before the recent civil war, wants those mines back. The corporation has established a base in the neighboring country of Tracona and used it to launch a missile attack on Arulco. If their demands are not met, they are prepared to destroy the entire country. Enrico Chivaldori, the man who helped liberate Arulco, has decided on a swift and devastating response . . . you!

Gameplay / Controls

The game start as Jagged Alliance 2 started, you get a mission - fulfill it. The exception is that the mission you get here is pretty clear - destroy that missile base. After you have bought a nice selection of mercenaries to help you out, the action begins at once. The helicopter crashes, and there is no way back. Loaded with cheap and ineffective weapons, you now meet a well organized, highly trained & good equipped group of enemies. From here you must battle your way from sector to sector on the map. The controls are simple, you can use the mouse to do everything you want to do, but the keyboard simplifies alot of the most used commands. (Like crouching, proning, etc.) The game also didn't have the tendency to repeat itself all the time, like such games often do, which was a BIG plus. You do the same thing, but you have to do it in MANY different ways throughout the game.
Sound

The sound is very nice, and a big part of the game. The personalised comments the different characters in the game say, give you a little connection to the game, and also a personalized relationship to your mercenaries, and hence improves the gameplay a couple of steps. Good & necesarry sound!

Music

The music must be the only flaw in this great game. What's up with playing some boring tracks over and over? This problem is easy to fix, though, with the possibility to adjust volume on Music/Speech & Sound Effects.. So after two hours, when the music is driving you crazy, it's fully possible to put on your favourite CD or mp3-playlist, and then go back and kick ass!

Overall
For Jagged Alliance fans, this is a must-get! Great gameplay combined with an interesting story and great sound-effects guarantees you that this game is worth the money! The one bad thing about it, however, must be that it is too short, but that probably also proves what a great game this is!
