Round
4 Calcutta noses ahead of topseed Chennai |
A big win over Nagpur City saw
Calcutta edging past topseed Chennai by a clear point. With just one round to go the lead
may be vital and Chennai may be hard pressed to keep their top ranking intact. The
top board match up between Mumbai and Chennai was a seesaw battle with Rahul Shetty
holding high rated R B Ramesh to a draw. Another interesting game saw Pankaj Joshi
defeating Konguvel in a Sicilian game. T S Ravi and V Saravanan restored parity with wins
over Ketan Boricha and Vikramaditya Kamble respectively. Muralikrishnan of Chrompet
continued his cent percent run winning his fourth consecutive round and is a contender for
the top board prize.
