It allows to create and edit waypoints and view tracks.

GPilotS is great program. This application is a must have for Garmin Etrex owners. The Etrex cannot scroll around the display of the track log. GpilotS can zoom in and scroll to any part of the track log. GPilotS uses pop-up scroll lists of numbers to enter or change the Latitude or Longitude of a waypoint. This makes it easy to work with waypoints. GpilotS has three major functions, Waypoints, Tracks and Routes. It allows you to categorize within any of the three functions just like you categorize addresses, todo’s and memos on your palm. Downloads and uploads of the three major functions are a simple stylus click. I use it to store Track logs the most. Once memory in the Etrex gets to 90% full, I download the track log to my Palm so that I don’t lose any detail. Then I clear the Etrex and continue on. I have made up a cable to go from the Etrex to the Palm and to power both from the cigarette lighter. I used to have to lug around a laptop with my Etrex. Now I can travel with the palm, the gps, the cables, the power adapter, a palmpix, extra batteries for each device and a notebook all in a padded CD carrying case that measures about 7 by 6 by 3 inches! It is fantastic that a program so tailored to my needs and of such good quality is free for all Garmin GPS/Palm users. Many thanks go out to Christian Claveleira for creating GPilotS.

This looks like the perfect companion to a Garmin GPS and a PC. Garmin's route/waypoint capacity is limited so I needed a way of carrying a 'database' of points and routes without lugging a laptop around. This seems to do the job, is easy to use and best of all it's free. Blue Hills Innovations supplied the cable i needed within a week (though you can bodge/make your own). Great.

GPilotS is an exceptional example of programming ability. Praise must go to Christian Claveleira. This application is a must have for Garmin owners. It is compatible with Garmin's mainstream products and offers features not found on other Palm/GPS utilities. There are many clever inovations, including the use of pop-up list boxes to select Lat/Long values. This elliminates the need to use Grafiti to enter these details; you just select from 0-9 on-screen. Waypoints are easily edited and routes drawn up. Complete downloads and uploads can be handled with ease. You can even sync the time on the Palm with a GPS atomic clock! Track logs can be backed-up to the Palm and displayed on screen. I initially tried this application with a Garmin serial cable, Palm Serial HotSync lead, a null-modem cross-over lead and two gender changer connectors! I have since soldered a bare-ended Garmin lead with a male connector to reduce the tangle of leads. This simply connects to the HotSync lead. This is a must have application if you own a boat and use electronic nav-aids. It is amazing that a program of such exceptional quality can be made free for all Garmin GPS users to own. Thanks to Christian Claveleira and hope you continue making the program ever better. Rated: Excelent (*****) and well deserved. Glyn B.
