WhatsOn was the first TV Guide style application for the Palm and now it remains the best.

WhatsOn allows you to download and display TV listing data in a grid format on your Palm.

Carry your TV guide schedule with you everywhere bring your PalmPilot! Lightweight, yet feature-rich, WhatsOn was developed specifically to view TV listing data.

It is composed of three separate components that: download the latest information from the world wide web, HotSync the data to your Palm Organizer, and display it in grid format for handheld viewing.

View show details, search for shows, schedule data to be downloaded automatically, and more.

Version 4.0 is newly updated with many new features:

  • Back from several months with no data source, WhatsOn now works with XMLTV. Because of this great open source project, there is now wide international support including data for USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Finland, New Zealand, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Denmark.
  • Support for extended 320 x 480 resoultion display used by Sony Clie
  • Best of all, WhatsOn is now free!!
Update Description:
- Now includes the latest version of XMLTV (0.5.23).
- The previous problems with Zap2It for North American users are now solved simply by reinstalling

Great Program! I wish it displayed what is currently on by default rather than what is on from 9:00pm to Midnight though. It would also be nice if you could search the listing.

Great little app that I use quite a lot, especially since I've modified the batch file so it would download 8 days of data each time instead of only the current day's. No problems with Hotsync at all. The conduit works fine for me. My only gripe is that I have to strip all the accented characted from the XML file before uploading to the Palm (I use a Word macro for that) or else the Palm displays garbage instead of the proper characters. No amount of research on the Web nor any of my tests using different encoding schemes has allowed me to cure this so as to display the accents correctly.

Very neat program. Had no problems with installing or running. This is exactly the kind of program that makes my pda usefull. Kudos to the author!

Basing a Palm TV app on XMLTV makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, according to the author, the conduit does not work for about 50% of the users. I am one of them. Until he has that worked out, be aware that there is an issue. I look forward to trying this out when he has this bug fixed.

It seems to me that it is still not a complete program. It did not install any conduit for hot sync, and in the Read Me file, it says to contact the author by Email an he will send you the reg code to unlock it,which i did.(then he emails you back saying write a positive review about it without ever supplying a reg code). Even funnier is the fact that it made any zip files when viewed online, downloaded to your doc's folders, without your accepting it. Seems odd to me,very odd.

Dont believe me try it,then come back to freeware palm an select a zipped file,it will be automatically downloaded to your docs folder. Afterwards go to folder props an file associations and change this back to windows promptly. SO,it does no install an conduit, author does not supply reg code as stated in the read me,and it exhibits behavior that is Not noted in the read me that is totally unacceptable for a legit program. I really think its spyware myself. Prove me wrong.

Whats There Appears Good....Minor Tweeking To Get XMLTV to work, PRC loaded OK, Conduit (Which Is The Entire Brains Of The Operation) Would Not Load. The Conduit DLL Is Also Being Flagged As An Invalid Conduit File When Trying To Load Manually. Great Concept And Ideas, But Not Ready For Primetime. Also Website Is Inoperative (www.zookware.com), Need Some Support And Repair Before Releasing....

Nice interface. Hotsync conduit did not install, though.
