The Far Cry Benchmark Utility made by HardwareOC has reached version 1.4.2 and it is available now for download. A 2048 x 1536 resolution and an instant save feature are now added.

HardwareOC has released a new program that allows you to benchmark your system with Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. The latest patch - v1.05 - is required.

After the great success of their Far Cry Benchmark, HardwareOC released a new program that allows you to benchmark your system with today’s most popular FPS-game, Half-Life 2. The program does not modify any registry-entries or configuration files, so it is completely safe to use. It contains 5 built in demos; you can set filtering methods, resolutions and much much more. In order to use HardwareOC Half-Life 2 Benchmark, you need a working Steam-account. If you did not do it before, install Half-Life 2 and create a proper Steam-account. Always update Steam and the game itself before testing, because this is necessary to run the benchmarks properly.

We now have the German demo of Neuro Hunter, allowing you to try out this sci-fi first-person action role-playing game developed by Mediaart. Neuro Hunter was released by Deep Silver on September 23rd 2005.

Valusoft has released patch v1.02 for 18 Wheels of Steel: Convoy, but this applies only to the CD version of the game. If you purchased this game from Trymedia, do no install this patch. The 1.02 patch for 18 Wheels of Steel Convoy does not address the issue with the ATI cards and its newest set of drivers. ATI and the developer are working together to try to fix this issue.

We have a new Kameo: Elements of Power trailer, showing off this upcoming epic adventure/action game in the works at Rare. The game tells the story of Kameo, who must capture, grow and unleash a wide assortment of incredible monsters to combat ever-present evil, and rescue her three Elemental Ancestors from the Dark Troll King, who threatens the planet and its wildlife. JoWood today released a new trailer from Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars - you can watch as you hero starts as a humble warrior fighting with fists, then with a dagger and then finally fighting with his big chopper. In Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars, player takes over both roles: he is Commander of his troops and also a front fighting hero, solving quests and overcoming obstacles as in classical RPGs, but also leads armies as in an RTS. The game will feature huge and detailed environments, three factions (Alliance of Light, Hordes of Chaos, Brotherhood of Darkness), each with 12 very different units consisting of infantry, cavalry and flyers, over 100 Avatar skills, and more. Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars is due to ship in Q1 2006.

Namco has released a new batch of screenshots from Pac-Man World Rally featuring Toc-Man, one of the 14 different playable racers in the upcoming kart racing title. The game is developed by Smart Bomb Interactive and it is scheduled to be released next summer. Press 'read more' for a few details.

As promised, Activision and id Software have released an updated demo for Quake IV, giving you the chance to try out the very popular sequel available in retail stores since this October. In Quake IV, you are Matthew Kane, an elite member of Rhino Squad and Earth's valiant invasion force. Fight alone, with your squad, and in hover tanks and mechanized walkers as you engage in a heroic mission into the heart of the Strogg war machine. But, in this epic war between worlds, the only way to defeat the Strogg is to become one of them. Battle through early missions as a deadly marine, then after your capture as a marine-turned-Strogg with enhanced abilities and the power to turn the tide of the war.

A massive batch of screenshots showcasing the High Dynamic Range Rendering capabilities from DropTeam has been added in our gallery. You'll battle for control of objectives on a broad variety of planets ranging from verdant Earth-like worlds to desolate, radioactive wastelands. You will use Dropships to land fighting vehicles and other deployable assets like sensors, mines and automated turrets on planetary surfaces. You will take direct control of various types of armored fighting vehicles while also coordinating your team, including AI, other human players, artillery support and more. DropTeam is scheduled for release in the second half of this year, for Windows, Mac OS-X and Linux.
