Update Description:
v5.52:

  • a bug fix version
v5.5 (October 3, 2005):
  • New ARM VM for Palm OS 5 devices, leading to speed improvements from 10 to up to 40 times.
  • SuperWaba now runs fine on Symbian 7.0s (Nokia 6600, etc).
  • Synchronization API now ported to Pocket PC, using RAPI. The same API/program is used for both Palm OS and Pocket PC.
  • Faster PDBDriver (version 3.0). Now it stores many database rows in a single pdb record. Added support for storage tables in the memory card of Palm OS.
  • Added a complete Sales Force Automation sample (superwaba.samples.app.sales). With it you will learn the correct way to create SuperWaba programs.

I haven't tried this program yet but I think I'll like it because I can create my own programs so I give can out free downloads (maybe :p)

Size takes up WAY too much space. Next time, PLEASE try to make it smaller!

according to the benchmarks available elsewhere, performance is indeed very decent. But the user interface doesn't seem to follow Palm standards.

SuperWaba is a very good fast, robust Java-like VM! Those of you that are complaining about the size need to get with the program. The VM is only between 400-700k on my device, depending on what app you want to run. 700k is nothing unless you are running a 33mhz Palm (Time for an upgrade!). And any programs written for SuperWaba are much smaller than they would normally be had they been compiled natively. The program I created is 153k when compiled for SuperWaba and 324k when compiled as a stand alone app. Stop complaining about size. The speed is very good for a VM and SuperWaba is a very robust system which runs on a multitude of devices.

Fair rating. Good effort for a Java implementation. Like the previous reviews, the size of the app is big & needs some major trimming (perhaps via assembly language next time?) Also slow on OS 3.0, especially with Dragon Ball processors, fair with OS 3.5 and above...

SuperWaba is very good, but the size is phenomenally big. To have a meaningful future, the developers should find a way to make the whole thing smaller.

Excellent program! Props for creating it.

Hi ! SuperWaba is working fine on my Clié with Palm OS 5, same as for POCKET PC. Very good JAVA VM :-)

Too big, might be performing fast, but at the cost of size (too many natives?). We know it is gonna be slow anyway on a pda, so, just try to make it small first.

Huge 300k, should have builds for each specific devices instead of big fat code that detects everything... And common, all the color support code wasting memory on older devices, Same goes for sockets...

It works with my old Palm Pilot OS 2.O. It works with my new Palm 505 0S 4.0. I developp my Java App. I create an extension.

It does not work with Sony's clie.

Sorry, but all my tests are made in a PalmProfessional, which uses PalmOS 2.0. Maybe you did something wrong.
