Ways to Play

	Find and play live opponents over the online service, Chess Planet.
	Play against one of many computer opponents, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
	Play opponents worldwide over the internet as easy as if you were sitting across the table from them.
	Play by email. Chess Commander will handle moves automatically and send email directly from the game!
	View PGN files. Review games played by grandmasters! Or store your own played games.

Board Graphics

	Chess board renderer created by professional computer games developer.
	Board(s) scale smoothly to any window size, i.e. Chess Commander looks just as good on a 640x480 desktop as it does in 1024x768.
	Displays up to 16.7 million colours.
	Pieces are anti-aliased and use alpha channel effects, i.e. no blocky edges.
	Bump mapped splash screens. Hardware support not required.
	Coordinates display.
	Runs on older hardware.

Sound

	Moves are announced with crystal clear, human voices. You can even add your own voice to the game! Sample1, Sample2
	Music - comes with an orchestral soundtrack. If you prefer, Chess Commander can also play your own mp3 tracks.

Gameplay

	Browser view. Chess Commander generates a personalized web page with statistics / news etc. As well as giving you one-click access to your saved games.
	Legal move display. Simply move the mouse over a piece and Chess Commander will display all legal moves. An excellent way to learn the moves, can be disabled for more experience players.
	Board annotation. When playing an internet game you can draw directly on to the board with the mouse, your opponent will see your drawing as you make it. This is a very useful feature for discussing moves with your opponent, you can circle groups of pieces and indicate moves with arrows. Or if you prefer, you could use it to play hangman on top of the board...
	Move review. At any point in the game you can review previous positions. You can jump to a particular move or scroll forwards and backwards through the move-list.
	Take-back. Take back any move (If your opponent lets you).
	Chat. Built in IM (instant messaging).
	Profiles. You can exchange your personal profile & photo with opponents. Chess Commander stores all the profiles of your previous played opponents.
	Save Games. Save games and restore them later - you can even save and restore network games! You can easily keep a database of your previous games.
