Le style Knockando : La distillerie Knockando utilise des alambics de forme cônique (classic pot still) pour la première distillation et des alambics à compartiment sphérique (boil ball) pour la seconde distillation. Elle produit un single malt classique. Proche de la céréale dans les jeunes versions, il gagne en complexité avec l'âge et révèle alors des notes épicées et boisées évoquant parfois l'encens.Commentaire de dégustation : De couleur or vif, le nez légèrement fumé est marqué par des notes de fruits secs (amande). France Bordeaux Bordeaux / Bordeaux Supérieur. 89/91 R. Parker. A wine of a rather dark ruby red ranging from inky-red to shadings of a purple tone at the edge of the glass. The wine is rather subdued but, with a bit of aeration, opens to reveals dark-fruit and red-fruit notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, cherries, cranberries and a hint of spices such as cinnamon, pepper and vanilla. After a few moments, the wine displays great power and notes derived from barrel-aging such as cedar wood, dark tobacco and roasted aromas. The character of the nose reappears on the palate with an attack that's rather fruity but which quickly tightens up thanks to the fresh, mentholated structure. Overall it is velvety smooth, with only the tannins standing out at the finish by their finesse and licorice-like flavor. A wine that exudes lots of class. More offers in this category French Wines
