Information Related to Version:

Product Description:

DVD Imager can be used to make a burnable DVD video image file from a DVD video disk that you have made using iDVD, or other means. Mac OS X 10.2 is required. Just drop any VIDEO_TS folder onto its icon and choose the location where you want the image saved. Destination should be on a local volume. DVD Imager will prompt you to name the image volume, create the disk image, then quit. If you have a DVD burner, you should then be able to create a new DVD disk using the Burn command in Disk Copy. DVD Imager doesn't have the ability to decrypt video content but there are other programs for that. DVD Imager is an Applescript Studio GUI wrapper for Jorg Schilling's mkisofs binary executable.

What's new in this version:

  • The mkisofs executable has been upgraded to version 2.01 (powerpc-apple-macosx8.3.0) for better compatibility.

Product Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.2 or higher

Been using version 1.4 for several months and worked flawlessly until a couple of weeks ago. Started getting the 1762 error, clicked OK and continued. Burned the disk using disk utility in Tiger. Disk plays fine in computer but will not play on DVD players. I tried three players and four DVDs including a DVD that I had copied last month. Tried copying it again, no luck. Earlier this evening I trashed the 1.4 version and downloaded the 1.5.3 and tried again. Now when I drag the VIDEO_TS file into the DVD Imager window, title it and click OK, the progress bar appears for about 1/2 second then pulls back and the imager windows closes. The image that appears in my movies file (when clicked on) gives the message "the disc image failed to mount" with the reason "no mountable file system". I'm lost and sure could use some help. By the way, I tried trashing the newly downloaded version and reloading but the same thing still occurs.

The problem was introduced with the 10.4.3 update. You should be able to OK the error message, ignore the error, and continue using the application. I can fix the problem, but I have to decide whether to go to the trouble for all my apps, or wait and see if some future update fixes it.
