What Hannahaha describes has been an issue since Creative Suite has come out - it assumes ownership of very standard filetypes, without informing the user, and VERY much counter to pretty much any 'good behavior' guidelines.

- CItrix client (launch) files, activate Photoshop or GoLive (.asp type).
- Real Media files now activate VersionCue or Photoshop.
etc...

While I have brought this up repeatedly with Adobe technicians, both in tech support, as well as during MacWorld, the average response has always been "Huh?". Those of their people that acknowledge this as an issue, clam up when I ask them as to "Why?"

Apparently, no one at Adobe uses their own products, or at least uses them on a Mac - which is unfortunate.

Apart from the, the CS suite series of apps is decent, though their update mechanism is foiled by some firewalls (and having to hunt down updates is no fun at all -- and their installer's habit of deleting the update files it downloads as it does so, doesn't help in collecting offsite updaters - like I said, apparently none of their developers appear to actually be using their own apps. Pity).

Adobe Version Cue CS2 Troubleshooting ReportInterfering with radio program downloads - Version: 2.0, 10/31/2005 11:09AM PST

I've just installed the Creative Suite and haven't investigated it all yet, but when I try to listen to some of the programs on BBC Radio 4, Version Cue now opens up, instead of RealPlayer or whatever the default was before, and I can't work out how to hear the program. It's very annoying. Any answers? (OSX Panther.)
