      Painting and "Unpainting"

    • Shift constrains in vertical or horizontal direction
    • If you are zoomed in so much that shift only constrains horizontally, add Option key to get vertical constraint
    • Paint Layer file sizes are 10 to 100 times smaller!

    • Painting uses much less memory now.

    • If you want to speed up painting, and use no extra memory, but lose painting undo, set the "Fast painting, no undo" switch in Preferences, "General"

    • If you still want undo, but don't want to use tons of extra memory, you can control how many levels of undo the program uses - by default, it's unlimited which can really chew up your memory! You set this in the Preferences Panel, "General" tab, Levels of Undo

    • Ease of Use:
    • Full Screen Preview mode - Tools -> Full Screen (click or press any key to stop!)
    • Updated online help and User Manual PDF
    • Shaded material uses "lightball" by default - which makes for incredible looking image
    • Got MightyMouse? Scroll Wheels can move effects sliders when cursor is over the slider.
    • Added German to English, French and Italian localizations (just change in System Preferences, International and relaunch!)
    • Skew/Rotate rotation dial reflects image rotation - mousedown and drag far away from center to get really accurage control!

    iMaginator ReviewUnfortunately, it's not for me - Version: 2.0, 8/26/2005 03:48AM PST

The people at Stone are nice, but they think "outside the box" just a little too much. This program could be a nice subset of Photoshop, doing what we need it to do for a price much less than Photoshop, and yet it's structured in such a way that the program is very slow and I can't figure out what I want to do (load image, crop, save in GIF and JPG format for the web) easily at all. It's nice to make a piece of software that's totally original and all, but this program is not to my taste.

    iMaginator ReviewUnique App - Version: 2.0, 7/13/2005 07:05PM PST

I bought Imaginator about a month ago and it is already at version 2.0. A new painting module has been added that really adds more flexibility to the program. This is an app that really encourages you to be creative. It's hard to understand this until you actually use it, but I think you'll find yourself making things you never thought you could before. It saves to popular formats like jpeg and tiff, so you'll be able to use what ever you create in other programs you might have for editing. As stated by others, this company gives lifetime upgrades for free and the support is the best I've ever encountered from any Mac software company. You can't ask for much more and the price is great too.

iMaginator ReviewThis app ROCKS! - Version: 1.1.2, 7/4/2005 03:53PM PST

This is the first app to use Apple's core image system, but these people have been in the Mac business for a really long time, and the quality shows from start to finish.

The app allows me to add effects to images, which can be used in virtually any other graphics app. It can even be used to make some movie files, which can be exported and then used in any number of video apps. You get free upgrades for life, and amazing support. You can see some of the effects on their web site, which is:

What more can you ask for? A Mac only very cool app that is easy to use, does what it says (and then some!), and the price and support are great!

It is not a replacement for Photoshop nor iPhoto, but something quite new, fresh and fun.

    Highly recommended!
