myTunes ReviewA Useful Tool - Version: 2.2.1, 11/9/2005 10:12PM PST

May I just first say that I am an avid myTunes fan. I have been using it from the start and I am always excited when they come out with a new version with new features. The latest version actually downloads your cover art for you while you listen to your music! It really doesn't get much more convenient than that.

My favorite part of the progam is the hot-key control. I find this to be extremely useful, particularly when I have a lot of applications open at once. I use it all the time! I also like to be able to see the song that's playing up in the menu bar. This allows me to minimize my iTunes window to reduce some of the clutter off of my desktop.

Lastly, I like the ease in looking up lyrics so I can quickly find the words to a song with seemingly incomprehensible lyrics.

I love this program and cannot imagine using iTunes without it!

myTunes ReviewBest iTunes Plug in EVER!!!!! - Version: 2.2.1, 11/9/2005 09:58PM PST

This is one of the greatest iTunes plug-ins I have ever found. It combines all the best iTunes plug-ins into one great program. The hot-keys are great. I can be in the middle of writing a paper and mid sentence change the song with just a few buttons. The album artwork also works great. When I downloaded artwork for all my albums, it was about 90-95% correct, and the ones that were incorrect had a wrong album name or were downloaded illegally (shhh....). It is a great companion to all the different iPod Photos, making it show you can really show off the capabilities of the iPod.

Also, the web site that it requires membership for is great too. I have put up my track collection, sent a friend a playlist, AND traded for 5 new CDs.

A MUST DOWNLOAD PLUG-IN!!!!!! It's free, it's awesome, and it’s the best iTunes and iPod accessory out there!

This program is great! It is the best iTunes plug in I have found.

I started using version 2.1, and then upgraded to this latest version when it came out. This new version adds cover all to my tracks better than any method I have tried. The older version downloaded the art to tracks I selected. This version just adds the art while I am listening to a song. It's cool..I just listen and cover art is added to the whole CD.

Occationally it come up with wrong art - for me it was about 1 out of a 100 CDs, but that is amazing considering I didn't have to do any work to get the art. I just copied the CDs that had wrong cover art into a playlist, and then went searching on the web to find replacement art. I recommend you listen to one track on each CD and let it do its job. If it screws up and adds the wrong art occationally, that is when you drag the CD to a playlist to correct the art later.

I haven't seen any slow down on my computer from myTunes. When it is adding cover art to the CD, myTunes had a spinning wheel when I moused over the menu. I figured out that if the CD has a lot of tracks, it takes a while for it to come back. iTunes acts a little sluggish too, because it is opening every track on the CD and adding the cover art the to the files and then saving them. I can hear the disk working while myTunes is adding art. Once it has finished adding cover art the program is very responsive. You can still listen to music in iTunes while it is adding art, which is very nice.

Rest of the features of this program are what I use everyday. I love the hotkeys, and the pop up window telling me what is playing. I wish it could scroll the title of the CD in the menu bar when there isn't room for the text.

I checked out SonicSwap after I started using myTunes, and it's a pretty cool site. I discovered on my Tracks page that I could hide all my tracks and playlists from people. I wouldn't mind showing them to my friends, but I only had an option of hiding them from everyone. I'm starting to list my DVDs and CDs for sale and trade.
