Information Related to Version:

Product Description:

An outlining and brainstorming tool for visual thinkers. Text and images can be placed anywhere on multiple worksheets that grow dynamically in all four directions. Elements can then be arranged in elaborate visual hierarchies and, optionally, linked to external documents and web pages.

The software is designed to help people focus on ideas and their underlying relationships, without wasting creative energy on the mechanics of formatting and presentation. Includes Spotlight plug-in. The demo includes an interactive tutorial.

What's new in this version:

adds text justification for multi-line topics and text items to the Layout tab of the Inspector panel. The ability to capture the width of annotation and make it the default has been added to the Preferences panel. The embedded Spotlight plug-in has been improved. The file extension has been changed to .mcn to prevent conflicts with other popular document types.

Product Requirements:

  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

i don't know if the company just added the page listed below or if i missed it. in any case, it does answer some of my concerns. they apparently have big plans for incubator. i do use pyramid so often that i am actually very excited to see where they go with it. in the meantime, there is an upgrade path and depending on how much you paid, it may be for a limited time. so get it while you can people! http://www.mindcad.com/decide.php

Incubator Reviewgreat company and products but incubator is a confusing release. - Version: 1.0, 11/13/2005 06:30AM PST

i have used pyramid long enough that i rarely start a project without it. pyramid is really quite brilliant. that said, incubator is strange and i am confused why the company would release it as a separate product. the tutorial says it has many advanced features and i have found only two- both of which i think belong in pyramid in the first place- 1) collapsible items- nice enough that it could eliminate the need for multiple sheets on smaller projects and 2) built in outline view- but it's only a view with no editing! that's hardly a feature. especially when pyramid can already export text and outlines for apps like omnioutliner. anyway, i don't think this is worth the additional $20 over pyramid but would be more fitting as a point upgrade to an existing product.
