Well over 150 Accordance-compatible modules are available on a variety of CD-ROMs, but all purchased modules are completely integrated into your Accordance library. Select text in any window, and a single mouse-click lets you find your selection in any text or tool. Five CD-ROMs contain collections of texts and tools centered on particular Bible versions. The interactive Bible Atlas lets you explore the lands of the Bible: build your own maps, follow animated routes, and navigate three-dimensional landscapes. Additional specialized CD-ROMs include the Bible Lands PhotoGuide, Anchor Bible Dictionary, and Church Fathers.

Accordance is amazing search and retrieval software. It searches and displays results with incredible speed, even on 600 and 800 MHz iBooks. It finds definitions, map locations and cross references quickly, and, most of the time, accurately. Some of the command implementation takes little time to get used to, but once you learn it, it comes "intuitive" to use. The documtation is good, but not great. However, the developers are every responsive to support requests and they implement suggestions for improvements. Also, there is a very helpful online forum and most the users very thoughtful. The price for the basic package is cheap. $39. Are you kidding. The more scholarly modules are much more expensive, but reflect the effort required to tag and cross references the materials accurately. I am not a Bible scholar but support the work people who are, so I know this product more from a technical point of view, than from the content of the materials. For example, I know nothing about the "church fathers." But, judging from what little I know about the Christian faith, these people try to honor their faith with excellent products and support, at good prices.

I have used Bible software on both Windows and Macs, and there is none that can come even close to both the ease and the sophistication of Accordance.

Been an Accordance user since the early 90s and on Macs (as an ex-IBM sys engineer) since 84. Helen and the crew are to be congratulated for a superb app. Many of my grad students are changing platforms because of it. If there was a 6-star option this would get it.
