Where can I go to learn more about all of your different products and services?

All of our service subscriptions are for one year. Once you are a subscriber, one-year renewals can be purchased to extend your subscription by another 365 days for each renewal purchased. To help you learn more about the differences among our products, see these sites:

How do I change my email address, password, screen name, or other account information?

Email address:

You can change your email address by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Manage Account” link.
  4. Highlight the old email address, then type your new email address in the space provided (overwriting the old email address).
  5. Click “Submit” near the bottom of the page.

You should now be able to logout and log back in using your new email address.

If you have signed up through the .Mac promotion, the email address on your account can't be changed.

Password:

You can change your password by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Manage Account” link.
  4. Highlight the original password (which will be hidden for security), then type your new password in the space provided (overwriting the old password).
  5. Repeat step 4 in the “Password Confirm” box.
  6. Click “Submit” near the bottom of the page.

You should now be able to logout and log back in using your new email address.

Screen name or other account information:

You can change your screen name or update other account information by following these steps:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Manage Account” link.
  4. Highlight the original screen name (or whatever information you want to change), then type your new screen name in the space provided (overwriting the old screen name).
  5. Click “Submit” near the bottom of the page.

Your changes will take effect immediately and you will see them next time you login.

How do I unsubscribe or change my email newsletter subscription choices?

If you want to unsubscribe or change your email newsletter subscription choices, follow these steps (depending on which services you're subscribed to):

VersionTracker Basic:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Email Preferences” link.
  4. Check or uncheck the email items as desired (uncheck all to unsubscribe from all).
  5. Click “Submit” near the bottom of the page.

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Back to VersionTracker” link.
  4. Click on the “My Tools” tab.
  5. Click on the “Edit Preferences” link.
  6. Check or uncheck the email items as desired (uncheck all to unsubscribe from all).
  7. Click “Submit” near the bottom of the page.

VersionTracker Plus or VersionTracker Pro Alerts

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Back to VersionTracker” link.
  4. Click on the “My Tools” tab.
  5. Click on the “Alerts” link.
  6. Check or uncheck the items you want to change.
  7. Click the “Edit” button or “Delete” (to remove alerts).
  8. Change the schedule frequency as desired.
  9. Click “Update” near the bottom of the page.

MacFixIt Basic

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Back to MacFixIt” link.
  4. Click on the “Email Preferences” link.
  5. Check or uncheck the “Send Daily Email Newsletter” item as desired (uncheck to unsubscribe).
  6. Click “Save Information” near the bottom of the page.

How do I opt out of auto-rebilling and auto-renewal?

Use our contact form and request that auto-rebilling and auto-renewal notifications be disabled for your account.

How do I renew my service subscriptions?

If you previously purchased by credit card, and your credit card does not expire within the next 12 months, our convenient auto-rebill feature will automatically charge your credit card and renew your annual subscription near the expiration date of your current subscription. However, if your credit card is nearing expiration, has expired, or if we encounter errors during rebilling, then you will need to renew manually.

To renew manually by credit card, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Account Status” link.
  4. Click on the “Renew” link next to the service subscription you want to renew.
  5. A popup window will appear
  6. If you have received a promotional code, you can enter it into the “Promo Code” box. If you don't have one, leave the box blank and click “Continue”.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions for the rest of the process.

How do I upgrade my service subscriptions?

To upgrade your service subscriptions to a higher level, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://secure.versiontracker.com.
  2. Login.
  3. Click on the “Account Status” link.
  4. Click on the “Upgrade” link next to the service subscription you want to renew.
  5. A popup window will appear
  6. If you have received a promotional code, you can enter it into the “Promo Code” box. If you don't have one, leave the box blank and click “Continue”.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions for the rest of the process.

Can I purchase, renew, or upgrade subscriptions if I don't have a credit card? What other payment options do you accept?

Be sure to include in the PayPal comments your existing account's email address and username, or if you are creating a new account, send your desired email, username, and password. How do I use the “Today's Updates” list on the home page?

Title column (links to the product page):

This is the first column on the left and displays the software title, its current version and a short description. The title is a link to the product page which provides detailed information on the product.

Size column (links directly to the downloadable file):

The size column displays one of these information types:

Size:
Displays the download file size with a link to the downloadable file.
Form:
On occasion we may link to a form page when a direct download link is not possible. In this case the link will be “form” instead of a file size.
List:
We may also link to a download page when multiple items are required for a download. In this case the link will be “list”.

For all download options, see the product page by clicking on its title.

License column (links to the developer's product info page):

This column lists the license type of the software, as determined by the developer:

Commercial:
Commercial Demo or Upgrade (major release).
Update:
Commercial Update (free minor or bugfix release).
Shareware:
Low-cost software (typically $5-$35) that you can download and try out.
Freeware:
Free software you can download and use at no cost.
Beta:
Software that's in a development stage; betas can be for commercial, shareware or freeware.
