This game is a swindle, a loss that is cleverly drawn. The USA has dominated over-the-board checkers in the past. But Great Britain has done better than the USA in mail matches, both serious and friendly. Great Britain won this match by a big margin. This swindle enabled me to draw my match with Mr. Proffitt. We drew all eight of our games. I think he allowed me easy draws in the other seven games, as he counted on an easy win in this game.
