For Oklahoma Scholastic Chess Tournament Information, You're Always WelcomeThe OCA welcomes all players at our tournaments. We also encourage Oklahoma players to participate in any tournament they may choose to play in, regardless of who organizes it. The OCA is only about promoting chess for the benefit and enjoyment of ALL Oklahoma chess players. The OCA leadership is not interested in self-promotion or personal recognition. Oklahoma has experienced an amazing growth in chess playing opportunities since June 2003, through the efforts of many more organizers than before. Helping Oklahoma chess players to have so many quality opportunities to enjoy this wonderful game is reward enough. We do hope to see you soon at a tournament listed above. Have fun, Master Chuck Unruh, OCA President
OCA Tournament Dates above without specifics will have more information posted about 3 months prior. We're unable to post this information earlier due to concerns about events that have been repeatedly scheduled in conflict with OCA events this year. Contrary to what you might have heard, the OCA will continue to offer Oklahoma's chess players a full schedule of fun tournaments of all kinds. If you would like to work with the OCA to host a tournament on one of these dates, at least 4 months prior please contact Chuck Unruh at 1-918-371-2794 or 1-800-460-2794. Contact the OCA today to help make your tournament more of a success!! Planning a tournament? PLEASE call USCF/OCA Oklahoma Clearinghouse Harold Ball at 580-762-3860 to verify you select and reserve an open date on the USCF/OCA Official Oklahoma Clearinghouse Calendar.
