Why are our chess set prices so low?

You are probably wondering how we can charge as much as 70% less than our competition and still be in business, right?

First of all, we run a tight ship. We choose our promotions carefully and ensure every advertising dollar pays for itself; we streamline our systems and billing processes; we don't have any frills (like the $5000 office chairs of some of the now bankrupt dot-coms). We also don't waste money on unnecessary things like expensive pay per click marketing, etc.

Second, we're straight shooters. There are no tricks in what we do, just good, old-fashioned, reliable business principles. Quite often we're asked if we bait our customers with low prices and then charge higher prices for shipping or supply items that are 'seconds' or inferior in any way. Anybody that expects us to do that will be disappointed. Most US shipments are shipped free and all shipping is done at cost without surcharges. We believe in the old saying, "You can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin it once." So, your chess products will be of the highest possible quality standards, always.

Third, we buy the vast majority of our products directly from the manufacturer not through wholesalers. We import thousands of chess sets from India and have achieved a very cost efficient weight to shipping cost ratio. We apply very fair margins on our sales and supply directly to the public. As a result we sell more which then enables us to buy more...simple!

Lastly, we work with the world's best manufacturers who appreciate our business model and approach which bodes well for the future as we make more product designs available. 

On the subject of chess set designs beware of imitations and false price marketing...some of our competitors are copying our designs and even naming the sets the same but the quality is not the same. Others are promoting similar products and exaggerating their recommended selling prices only then to offer hefty discounts in the hope to convey the idea that what's being offered is a bargain! Ok, so if they want to sell a chess set for $350 and they told you that it's reduced from $800 you'd believe them, right?!!
