An equally strong turnout
of 32
of the Metrolina area's most creative aeolists
farctated at this five star restaurant more commonly known as
Wendy's and then participated in Rd:4
of Wendy's LXXIII. In
the Top Section,
kudoes to Patrick "Fabio" McCartney (2000) who handily Drew a
B vs N ending against
the CCC's new #2 player, FM Andrey
"the Giant" Chumachenko (2452)
to maintain the lead with 3.5-.5 (See Game 0538).
Meanwhile, the CCC's #3 player, 2005
CCC Player of the Year,
the pride of Crouse, NC, NM Frankie
"Neutrino" Newton (2284) made
short work of Gary "Sandbagger" Branton (1926), NM Justin "Dawg" Daniel (2184) mauled Jonathan "the
Enforcer" Munnell (1919), NM Leland
"Perro Grande" Fuerstman
(2037) split the point with "Iron" Mike Eberhardinger (1782) as did Laura "Karate Kid" Lee (1800) with Clarke "Kent" Brosi (1744). In the "B" Section, Amelia "Wheels" Wheeless (1658) fought Ankit "Butch" Jivan (1661) to a Draw to lead with 3-1. In
addition, Dave "Ameen" Eadie (1594) upset Keith "Sherlock"
Holmes (1719). In the "C" Section,
graduate of the Fuerstman
School of Chess 10 year old phenom Samuel "Xman" Xin (1595) expatriated Viktor "the
Mad Russian" Ozherelyev (1562) to lead with 4-0.
Meanwhile, Colette
"Wheels" Wheeless (1553)
bested Cesar Miranda (Unr), Drexall "Frank"
Shorter (1552)
outlasted Winfred "Guns" Gatlin (1427) and Spencer "Jazzman" Singleton (1515) welcomed newcomer
William Ballance (Unr). In the Lower
Section, Ervon "Wooden" Nichols (1376) continued his
domination with a quick victory over Wei "XmanSr" Xin (984) to lead
with 4-0.
Other Lower Section winners were: Slava Fedko, Fran Palmer, Joe Shirlen & Corey Frazier. All
results may be observed on the current "Crosstable".

Top Honors in
Bertucci's VII
Charlotte NC 1-21-05: A rather light turnout of 11 avid competitors from North
and South Carolina travelled to the Queen City in order to participate in Bertucci's
VII. In the Top Section,
NM Justin "Dawg" Daniel (2184) posted early round
victories over Gary "Sandbagger"
Branton (1926) and Robert "I need a" Halliday (1556) before agreeing to
Draw with Expert Keith
"Chuckie" Eubanks (2086) who
had dispatched of Jerome "Cookie Monster" DeBell (1695) and Dave
"Ameen" Eadie (1589). Each scored 2.5-.5 and
pocketed $75.
