Building an Outdoor Classroom
Many Randolph students have volunteered to shovel mulch,
till soil and plant plants in the new Outdoor
Habitat/Classroom being developed along Water
Oak Drive. A quick visit to the butterfly
garden gives you an idea of the many wonderful
lessons that the kids will learn as the Habitat matures.
The Habitat is funded by a grant that was obtained through
the efforts of PTSA members and school staff.
The Habitat occupies approximately 1 acre of land at
the corner of the school driveway and Water Oak
Rd. The Habitat will provide food, water,
cover and a place for wildlife to raise their
young. It will be certified as a National
Wildlife Federation Schoolyard Habitat.
