I am having trouble installing Pocket Fritz can you help?If you are having trouble installing Pocket Fritz please read this article: Installing Pocket Fritz Step by Step I am having trouble installing FritzYou definitely want to install Fritz on your hard drive. When you put the CD in, a box should pop up with "Install" as one of the choices. Click that & the installation wizard should do the rest. If you can't see that, you may have your Windows "auto-install" feature disabled. In that case, double-click the "Setup.exe" (or "Install.exe") file on the CD. Installation is easy, but after that you'll want to do a couple of things - for example, install the Fritz opening book and its chat features. First make a "Fritz" folder in My Documents. The CD has 4 files called "Fritz7" with the extensions .ctb, .ctg, .cto & .ini - copy these to the Fritz folder you just made, preferably into a sub-folder called "Trees" or "Books". Next time you start Fritz use "File/Open/Openings book" & browse to that folder, highlight & click "Open". Then you should copy the database to your hard drive. On the CD its in a folder called "Database", so copy all those files to a "Database" sub-folder in your Fritz folder - or anywhere you plan to keep the databases you collect. The last step is get those chat files copied - you know, Fritz likes to verbally abuse you while its winning :) The CD has a "Talk" folder with about 1,000 .wav files. Copy these to a "Talk" folder in your "Fritz" folder. Then, into the Fritz folder (but not inside the "Talk" folder) copy the file "Talk.cht". When you start Fritz next, you'll have to let it find its chat files - It does that right away, giving you a choice between "browse" or "shutup". |
