Riding high at a gentle pace

Like horses? Well, if you do then this is a great game that will have you showjumping, riding cross-country and competing in dressage events within a matter of minutes.

It is Riding Star and while it is aimed at girls aged eight and over, younger girls and even boys could get quite a bit of enjoyment from it.

The controls are easy, just use the directional keys, and when you want to jump a gate hit the spacebar. Now this can take a bit of practice and thank goodness it's all on the computer otherwise I'd have broken my neck, and Star's, many times.

After the show it's back to the stables for water, feed and a good grooming, which you do by selecting combs and brushes and then dragging the symbol across Star.

Riding Star is a nice, gentle game that is fun but the riding events do add a bit of competitiveness to keep the interest up.
