The demo includes 2 of the 24 sessions available in the full version - session 1 on Beat and Tempo, and Session 5, Introduction to Harmony. Each session includes lessons from Maestro Max and his choir of Singing Notes. There are games to test the concepts explained in the lessons. Multiple users are supported and each one's progress through the lessons is tracked.

As in the first version, Doodle Pad allows you to compose music by dragging different notes onto a sheet. Play your composition, make changes and try again! Don't want to start from scratch? Open the Jukebox and select pieces as simple as Hot Cross Buns or as complex as Chopin's Nocturne - use them as a starting point for a new composition.

In Beat and Tempo, Maestro Max trains you to match the beat of a variety of classical pieces. Use the mouse or the space bar to enter the beat. The Maestro then challenges you to pick the correct bouncing ball to match the beat of a musical composition. Rhythm Notation asks you to repeat the beat of rhythms played on different instruments.

There are options for lesson stringency and game difficulty. The troubleshooting information is excellent - it made it very easy to resolve a problem with my MIDI sound configuration.

This is a fantastic program - lots to learn, and wonderful musical excerpts, for music lovers of all ages.
