Mike Donnelly is living the historic city of Coventry, England with his wife Carol,
son Paul and daughter Kate. Technical Manager of a company called First Water Ltd that researches and manufactures biomedical electrodes and
wound care products. Formerly worked at Manchester University with 30+ scientific
publications.
Former serious otb player winning many different club championships and at
various times Champion of Durham, Cleveland and Cheshire Counties as well as
runner-up in North of England Championship. Former Fellow of the British Chess
Problem Society retaining an interest in solving but not now composing chess
problems.
Have always played the occasional postal game but since about 1995 have
made a switch to occasional otb games, mostly in local leagues, together with
a more serious commitment to postal chess following winning the North of
England Individual Postal Championship and my first representation on an
England team in the North Atlantic Team Tournament. Since then further England representations in team and individual events lead to securing the
CC-IM title in the Reg Gillman Memorial Invitation Event which was ratified at the
ICCF Rimini Congress in Sept. 2001.
