Game Timer
Last Updated: April 6, 2002

start Welcome to the Game Timer home page. Game Timer is an application for the PalmTM line of devices which takes the place of a mechanical game timer (such as a chess timer).

Game Timer is freeware - no payment is necessary. However, if you would like to support continued development of this application, please see the voluntary payment page.

Download:
Version 1.4 of Game Timer is available. Please see the revision history for information about what has changed.

The source is also available to anyone who's interested, under the terms of the GNU General Public License. This version of the application was built using Metrowerks CodeWarrior for PalmOS R5 and tested using the PalmOSTM Emulator, version 2.1d29.

Credits:
The idea for this application came from Joel Nylund, originally for a Chess Timer (based on user feedback, the utility later morphed into a more generic "Game Timer").

I learned PalmOSTM programming through a combination of resources available on the Internet. Please see my Palm links page for the list.

I more recently learned how to use the Metrowerks CodeWarrior environment, and how to apply that to PalmOSTM development, by reading Palm OSTM Programming for Dummies, by Liz O'Hara and John Schettino. (This book happens to include an earlier version of this utility, Chess Timer v1.2 (built using GCC) on the included CD.)
