Immortal Five Memorial All India FIDE Rated Open, Vijayawada

Rohit emerges Champion June15

Young Gogineni Rohith of AP emerged champion with 9.5 points ahead of big names symbolizing the surge of youth power in Indian chess, at Vijayawada here today. Finishing behind the champion were M Srinivasa Rao, Himanshu Sharma, K Ratnakaran and top seed International Master Sudhakar Babu in that order. The tournament, Immortal Five was held in the memory of five children from Andhra Pradesh who passed away in a tragic road accident in Orissa last September.
