Sub Junior (Boys & Girls) Championship 2004, Calicut India's
youngest International Master Norm holder, eleven-year-old Parimarjan Negi
from Amity International School, New Delhi won
the National Sub Junior title, much ahead of his age, defeating
seasoned K Vijay Keerthi of Karnataka in the final round, here today. Undefeated Parimarjan
Negi scored seven wins and two draws, to sum up a magnificent
performance of 8.0 points from nine rounds. This big National
title, should propel this talented youngster to bigger and historic
feats. In the Girls section,
Saheli Nath of Bengal swept her way to the title with 8.5 points from nine rounds.
The following players qualify to the next National Super League Chess championship
to be held later.
