Seven
year old S V Srinath Rao (DOB 19th May 1997) of Chhattisgarh became
India's youngest FIDE Rated player, securing an Elo Rating of 1922 in
the recently released October 2004 Rating list.
He
overtook Delhi lad Sahaj Grower (DOB 7th Sep 1995), who held the
previous record. Srinath Rao is under the regular guidance of Anand Awadhiya,
former State Champion of Chhattisgarh.
Srinath
Rao completed his rating requirements in Ahmedabad (1st Fischer),
Nagpur (Samruddha Bharat) and Raipur (BPCL) Open tournaments.
He
won the U-10 Category in Piloo Modi Open 2003 and is a successful
product of Chhattisgarh State Association and Raipur District Chess Association.
