In its opening fixture away to Oxford Unifversity, as last year contested over just five boards, the Club went down narrowly 2-3.
Paish wins Nurse
The new season kicked off in traditional style with the Nurse Lightning Championship on Wednesday 28th September.
The event, attended by only the "usual suspects" ended in a first-time victory for Tony Paish.

Barclays win exciting Frost Wilmot
The Frost Wilmot Team Blitz gave rise to an exciting contest with five teams entering - one Insurance team and four Combined League teams.
The event resulted in a come-from- behind victory for Barclays over Athenaeum 1. Trailing by 2 points with two rounds to go, Barclays sneaked home by a point. Athenaeum 2 were third.
